The Situation
The leadership team was experiencing significant friction — two senior engineers had resigned in the same quarter, a third was on the verge of leaving, and the CEO described the culture as 'high output but low trust.' The People Ops director had tried team offsites and a meditation app subscription. Neither moved the needle. She reached out to Gemivision after a colleague recommended Mei following a corporate sound bath event.
The Approach
Mei began with a 90-minute discovery session with the leadership team to assess the underlying dynamics. What emerged wasn't a productivity problem — it was a nervous system problem. The team was chronically dysregulated: reactive in meetings, avoidant in conflict, and disconnected from any shared sense of purpose. Mei designed a 6-month program: monthly half-day workshops combining somatic awareness, breathwork, and facilitated dialogue; a leadership coaching track for the CEO and two VPs; and a monthly sound healing session open to the full team.
Documented Outcomes
- Engineer retention: 0 additional departures in the 6 months following the engagement
- Employee NPS increased from 34 to 71 over the program period
- CEO reported 'measurably less reactive' in board meetings — confirmed by two board members
- Team introduced a weekly 10-minute breathwork practice that became self-sustaining
- Company renewed for a second 6-month engagement at expanded scope
I've worked with executive coaches, brought in consultants, done the offsites. Nothing touched what Mei did in six months. She got to the root of something we didn't even have language for.
